Foodpanda Philippines is deepening its push to help Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) grow, rolling out financing, digital marketing, and business development programs designed to help entrepreneurs overcome funding constraints and compete more effectively in the digital economy.
Timed with National MSME Month, the initiatives target some of the biggest hurdles facing small businesses, including limited access to capital, weak online visibility, and intensifying competition as more commerce shifts to digital platforms.
“Our role extends beyond connecting merchants with customers. We want to empower entrepreneurs by giving them access to technology, marketing support, financing opportunities, and a platform that enables sustainable business growth,” said Patricia Jacinto, Director of Growth and Marketing at foodpanda Philippines.
At the center of the program is foodpanda Capital, a performance-based financing facility that gives qualified merchant partners access to collateral-free business loans through a simplified application process. The financing allows entrepreneurs to purchase equipment, increase inventory, renovate stores, or expand operations without navigating the lengthy requirements of traditional bank lending.
To help merchants generate demand, foodpanda is also funding promotional campaigns, customer vouchers, and free delivery offers that boost online visibility while easing marketing costs for small businesses.
Beyond financing and promotions, the company is working with the Department of Trade and Industry and local government units to bring more traditional enterprises into the digital marketplace through trade fairs, information caravans, and merchant onboarding activities.
Its PandaMarket initiative is likewise helping regional food brands reach customers outside their home provinces, allowing local products to tap larger markets while preserving their distinct identities.
The broader strategy reflects a growing trend among digital platforms to move beyond their core services and become business enablers. As MSMEs accelerate their digital transformation, access to financing, technology, and wider markets is becoming as critical as delivery itself. By combining these services under one ecosystem, foodpanda is positioning itself not just as a delivery platform but as a long-term growth partner for Philippine entrepreneurs.
