Motorists using the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Subsection 3 will begin paying toll fees today, after getting approval from the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB). The toll applies to the stretch between Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange and Governor’s Drive in General Trias, Cavite.
Since it opened on May 4, this 7.88-kilometer segment has been free of charge, serving nearly 9,000 vehicles each day. It has given residents, workers, students, and businesses a faster option instead of using busy local roads in Cavite. The section was built to cut travel time and bypass heavy traffic along the province’s expanding industrial and residential areas.
For trips between Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange and Governor’s Drive, rates are set at P35 for Class 1 vehicles, P70 for Class 2, and P106 for Class 3. Those traveling directly from Governor’s Drive in General Trias to Greenfield in Laguna will pay P117 for Class 1, P234 for Class 2, and P351 for Class 3.
With Subsection 3 now operational, the total running length of CALAX reaches 26 kilometers, starting from the Greenfield-Mamplasan Entry in Biñan, Laguna. When fully finished, the whole expressway is expected to carry up to 65,000 vehicles daily. It will improve connections across Cavite, Laguna, and Southern Metro Manila, speed up the movement of people and goods, and help boost economic growth in one of the country’s fastest-developing regions.
