MaxiLife has rebranded as Maxicare Insurance as the Maxicare Group moves to integrate healthcare services with life and financial protection, expanding beyond its traditional health maintenance organization (HMO) business.
The rebranding, approved by the Insurance Commission, brings the insurance unit under the Maxicare name and more closely links its protection products with the group’s health plans, clinics, and medical provider network.
Maxicare said the move is designed to give customers access to healthcare and financial protection within a single ecosystem, addressing the traditional divide between medical services and insurance coverage.
“This rebrand is more than a change in name,” Maxicare Insurance chief executive Glanvill Marquez said. “As part of one unified Maxicare Group, Maxicare Insurance extends the care we provide beyond health plans and clinic access to include financial protection for life’s unexpected moments.”
The shift comes as medical plan costs in the Philippines are projected to rise by double digits again in 2026, potentially putting greater pressure on households facing unexpected medical expenses.
Now in its fourth year, Maxicare Insurance complements the group’s 51 Maxicare Clinics and nationwide network of more than 1,100 affiliated hospitals and clinics, 749 dental clinics, and 22,400 partner physicians.
Its products include the Ease Series, which offers annually renewable coverage for critical illness, death, accidents, and disability. Premiums start at P388 a year, while selected products provide coverage of up to P250,000.
Marquez said the integration would allow Maxicare to support members across the healthcare journey, from preventive care and consultations to protection against more serious health and financial risks.
The broader strategy reflects a shift in healthcare financing, where medical access and financial protection increasingly converge as Filipinos grapple with rising healthcare costs.
