EEI unit to build solar rooftop system for Dagupan Doctors Hospital

Listed EEI Corp. said Thursday that its energy unit, EEI Power Corp., recently signed a deal for the construction of a 145.2 kiloWatt-peak solar photovoltaic rooftop system at the Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital in Dagupan City.

EEI said that over the 25-year lifespan of the solar rooftop system, it is estimated to save Dagupan Doctors up to P20 million in electricity expenses.  Financial details of the transaction, however, weren’t disclosed.
The solar rooftop system, comprised of 264 units of 550 watt-peak monocrystalline photovoltaic solar panels, is anticipated to yield an average annual energy output of 183,680kWh. Additionally, it is projected to curtail carbon emission by approximately 128 metric tons annually, equivalent to planting 2,150 trees.

“It is our privilege to have been given the opportunity to partner with a well-respected healthcare institution like Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital for this environment-friendly initiative which aligns with our dedication in providing accessible and cost-effective solutions,” said EEI Power’s general manager Salvador Salire Jr. in a statement.
Dagupan Doctors, a 100-bed tertiary hospital, is part of the Mount Grace Hospitals Inc. network. The hospital, located in a two-hectare property in Dagupan City, has a team of over 150 highly-trained medical consultants and paramedical staff.
