DITO CME Holdings Corp., the listed telecommunications company of Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy, said Friday that its operating unit DITO Telecommunity Corp. has passed the audit for the technical requirements of its license to operate.
To secure its permit to operate in July 2019, DITO committed to the National Telecommunications Commission to deliver a national population coverage of 84.01 percent and minimum average broadband speed of 55 Mbps on the fifth year of operation
In a letter informing DITO of the results of an audit conducted by R.G. Manabat & Co., a copy of which was submitted to the Philippine Stock Exchange, NTC said both the national population coverage and MABS exceeded its commitment.
The national population coverage of DITO was calculated by R.G. Manabat at 86.3 percent while the MABS was measured at 92.87 Mbps and 597.70 Mbps at 4G and 5G sites, respectively.
Combined MABS delivered for 4G and 5G is 345.28 Mbps and the related MABS per testing point for all sites is 411.00 Mbps at near point, 341.76 Mbps at middle point and 283.09 Mbps at the far point.
“Therefore, pursuant to NTC Memorandum Circular No. 09-09-2018 and based on the factual findings reported by the independent auditor, R.G. Manabat &Co., the Commission hereby declares that DITO PASSED the technical audit of its Commitments, National Population Coverage and Minimum Average Broadband Speed, for the Fifth Year,” the NTC informed DITO.
