FG Cold Storage Corp. has inaugurated a new refrigerated warehouse at the Navotas Fishport aimed at meeting the increasing demand of the food industry.
The facility boasts of 7,200 pallet positions and a total investment of P755 million, according to Fay Bernardo, president of the parent company, Frabelle Cold Chain Group.
Strategically located for optimal logistics, the new cold storage features 12 docking bays, advanced shuttle racking systems, and eight cold storage rooms maintained at -25°C. It is designed to efficiently handle the storage of frozen meat and vegetables, catering to the needs of marine traders and manufacturers.
Additionally, FG Cold Storage offers rental options for farmers’ cooperatives while they await new facilities from the Department of Agriculture. The Cold Chain Association of the Philippines anticipates an 8 percent increase in total cold storage capacity this year, following a steady growth trend since 2021.
