Semirara Mining declares P10.6 billion special cash dividend

Semirara Mining and Power Corp. said Wednesday its board declared a P2.50 cash dividend for each common share for a total P10.6 billion, a decision that reflects the listed company’s commitment to returning value to shareholders.

Shareholders as of 29 October are eligible to receive the special cash dividend, with the stocks to trade minus the dividend on 28 October. Payment is scheduled for 14 November.

The latest dividend declaration adds to the P14.88 billion already distributed in April, bringing Semirara’s total dividend payout in 2024 to P25.50 billion.

The dividend payout translates to a yield of nearly 18 percent based on Semirara’s closing price of P34.00 on 15 October. This positions Semirara as an attractive option for income-focused investors, highlighting its strong financial performance and stability in the mining and energy sectors.

With a payout ratio of 91 percent, well above the company’s policy of distributing at least 20 percent of prior year’s net income, Semirara is reinforcing its position as a leader in the industry.

As the company continues to perform well, stakeholders will closely watch for future dividend announcements and the potential for sustained returns.
