Maynilad completes P191M Caloocan pipe replacement project

Maynilad Water Services Inc. has completed a P191-million project to replace 19.69 kilometers of aging pipes in Caloocan City. The upgrade, announced in a company statement, addresses leaks and low water pressure affecting barangay Bagong Silang.

The new, larger-diameter pipes are expected to increase water pressure from below 7 psi to 16 psi, benefiting approximately 38,000 residents by ensuring water can reach the third storey of buildings without booster pumps. The project will recover around 5 million liters of potable water daily, improving supply for an additional 33,500 individuals.

Ramoncito Fernandez, Maynilad president, emphasized the project’s importance in meeting the needs of the city’s growing population. This year, Maynilad has allocated P4 billion for various infrastructure upgrades across several cities, reinforcing its commitment as the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines.
