Globe readies for Tropical Depression Kristine

As Tropical Depression Kristine approaches the Philippines, Globe Telecom is actively preparing to mitigate potential disruptions.

The company has ensured that network facilities along the storm’s projected path are equipped with generators and batteries to maintain connectivity amid possible power outages.

Globe has also prepositioned technical and support personnel, along with essential supplies, to facilitate immediate response efforts in affected areas. In the event of severe service outages, Globe is prepared to deploy free calling, charging, and WiFi services.

Yoly Crisanto, Globe chief sustainability and corporate communications officer, said, “Our network was built to be resilient to ensure that our services will remain operational despite weather disturbances.” She reassured the public that the company is ready to respond to any challenges posed by Kristine.

The tropical depression is forecasted to intensify into a tropical storm by Tuesday and may become a typhoon by Thursday, with a potential landfall in Cagayan. As of Monday morning, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 has been raised in parts of Catanduanes and Northern and Eastern Samar.

Globe advises communities in the storm’s path to prepare essential supplies, including food, water, and emergency kits, while urging the public to stay updated through reliable news sources. To aid this, Globe offers free data access to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s website for timely weather updates.
