Ayala Corp. chairman recognized as among global leadership elite

Ayala Corporation chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala has earned a prestigious spot in the inaugural Leaders50 list, a new recognition of the world’s most inspiring and exceptional leaders. The list, unveiled by London-based Thinkers50, highlights influential figures from diverse sectors—including business, non-profit, and social innovation—who are shaping the future through visionary leadership.

In a statement following the announcement, Zobel expressed his gratitude, noting that the honor was not just his own but a reflection of the dedication and hard work of the entire Ayala Group. “This recognition belongs to the dedicated employees of the Ayala group, whose unwavering support and commitment enable us to build businesses that help people thrive,” Zobel said.

He also shared the accolade with Ayala’s partners and stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in driving positive change. “I share this achievement with our partners and stakeholders, who share our purpose and vision, working closely with us to foster communities and, ultimately, a country where more people can thrive. Thank you for being part of this journey,” he said.

The Leaders50 list, compiled by Thinkers50, features some of the most well-known corporate and organizational leaders today, including Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, Leena Nair, Global CEO of Chanel, Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, and Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Airlines. The list also celebrates leaders who are making a difference in social impact and non-profit work, such as Shelley Zalis, founder and CEO of the Female Quotient, and Etienne Salborn, founder of Uganda’s Social Innovation Academy. Other standout names include Melanie Perkins, co-founder of Canva, and Asheesh Advani, CEO of Junior Achievement Worldwide.

Stuart Crainer, co-founder of Thinkers50, highlighted the significance of strong leadership in tackling the immense global challenges of today. “The challenges facing the world, organizations, and individuals are enormous. We do not know all of the elements which will be necessary to begin to tackle these challenges. But, we do know that none will be overcome without leadership,” Crainer said. “Leaders50 shines a light on some exceptional leaders in the hope that others may learn from them, be inspired by them, and take on the mantle of leadership.”

This recognition further cements Zobel’s standing as one of the most influential leaders in the global business landscape, underscoring his role in advancing Ayala’s mission to create value for both its stakeholders and the broader community.
