Honda, Nissan in exploratory merger talks

Honda Motor and Nissan Motor are considering a merger to form a stronger global automotive powerhouse. The deal could also pave the way for Mitsubishi Motors to join the alliance. This expanded group would enhance their ability to compete in the evolving auto industry, particularly in the transition to electric vehicles and embracing new technologies. Over the next six months, Honda and Nissan will negotiate the terms, aiming for a final merger agreement by August 2026.
