Rep. Quimbo, DTI lead opening of ‘National Innovation Hub’ in Marikina

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with Marikina Second District Rep. Stella Quimbo and the National Development Company (NDC), opened the “national innovation hub” at the Marikina Enterprise Center.

The hub stems from Rep. Quimbo’s long-held vision to address challenges faced by small businesses and creatives.

A former shoe entrepreneur, Quimbo sought to unite government, industry, and innovation under one roof.

“What if we could bring government, industry, and innovation under one roof?” Quimbo asked during the launch.

The innovation hub offers integrated services including technical assistance, startup incubation, streamlined regulations, digital onboarding, and investor matching—all in one place.

The hub is a realization of Quimbo’s aim to centralize support for entrepreneurs.

”What we’re building now is the structure that will let that talent lead—not just locally, but globally. This is how we begin the future. This is how we build Marikina Startup Valley,” said Marikina Representative Stella Quimbo.

NDC General Manager Saturnino Mejia, meanwhile, called the hub a model of cross-sector collaboration.

“What we’re launching here is not just a space—it’s a mission,” Mejia said. “One that’s rooted in shared progress and built for real impact.”

Aside from the DTI and NDC, the initiative is backed by agencies such as ARTA, DICT, SSS, and private sector partners.
