Malayan Insurance Co. Inc. was recognized as the country’s “Most Sustainable and Liveable Insurance Company” at the 8th Nation Builders and Mosliv Awards, held at Okada Manila. The accolade was conferred by Sustainability Standards Inc., a global advocate of sustainable development aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The award highlights Malayan Insurance’s commitment to corporate sustainability, particularly through its GameChangers program, which integrates CSR initiatives into business operations. Targeting key SDGs—namely, no poverty (SDG 1), quality education (SDG 4), and reduced inequality (SDG 10)—the company has executed projects such as community outreach for sick children and single mothers, and infrastructure rehabilitation for public schools in partnership with WorldVision.
Chief marketing officer Anthony Louis Guanzon emphasized the insurer’s role as a proactive corporate citizen, stating, “By embedding sustainability and CSR in our operations, we were able to impact communities and individuals, and inspire compassionate and proactive individuals to contribute.”
This recognition affirms Malayan Insurance’s corporate and commercial positioning as a leader in sustainability-driven business practices within the Philippine insurance industry.
