South Palms Resort & Spa in Panglao is set to open in August this year, marking a milestone in the evolution of Bohol’s tourism and luxury hospitality sectors.
Developed under Accor’s prestigious MGallery Collection, the 188-key beachfront resort is positioned as a flagship property on Panglao Island, less than five kilometers from Bohol-Panglao International Airport. Located on what is hailed as Panglao’s finest beach, the project merges high-end design with deep cultural storytelling, setting a new benchmark for sustainable luxury in the Visayas.
“This resort is more than just a destination; it’s a living narrative,” said Danish Khan, general manager of South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao. “We’ve created a place where nature, culture, and luxury are in harmony—where every guest encounter becomes part of Bohol’s story.”
Architecturally rooted in Boholano traditions and inspired by the local sea legend of Sirenna, the development integrates indigenous design, natural materials, and tropical biophilic concepts. Key features include the iconic spiraled Walk Bridge, a lemongrass-scented garden, and a light-filled lobby shaded by a grand banyan tree.
Each suite offers rustic-chic interiors featuring coconut wood furnishings, rattan lighting, and handwoven local textiles, while signature “M Moments” experiences—such as the exclusive asin tibuok salt-making journey—reflect MGallery’s commitment to authentic artisan culture.
With its strategic location, luxury positioning, and experiential design, the resort is expected to strengthen Bohol’s appeal as a premier destination for both upscale tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) business.
This development underlines Accor’s continued expansion in Southeast Asia and represents a bold step forward in integrating culture-driven hospitality with commercial tourism growth.
