The Ayala Group has expanded its support for the Department of Education’s Balik Eskwela initiative by deploying over 2,400 employee volunteers to 116 schools nationwide through its Brigadang Ayala Balik Eskwela program. This year’s effort marked a shift toward high-skills volunteerism, with professionals such as engineers, electricians, IT experts, and healthcare workers contributing their expertise.
More than 860 Ayala employees brought specialized skills to 46 schools in several provinces, going beyond traditional cleaning and repainting. Among them was Globe engineer Jay Bosi, who conducted safety inspections in Cagayan de Oro and recommended electrical safety improvements.
The initiative logged a total of 13,160 volunteer hours, emphasizing Ayala’s commitment to community development and employee engagement. “Skills-based volunteering is helping increase the quality of our community partnership programs,” said Tony Lambino, president of Ayala Foundation.
Brigadang Ayala operates year-round, contributing to disaster response and community development. In 2023, Ayala Group volunteers delivered 412,926 hours of service—more than doubling its 190,000-hour pledge for the company’s 190th anniversary.
