BDO Foundation wins for farmer-focused finance program

BDO Foundation’s financial education program KITA (Kapital at Ipon Tungo sa Asenso) Mo Na! has been named Financial Inclusion Initiative of the Year at the 2025 Asian Banking & Finance (ABF) Retail Banking Awards.

The program, developed in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC), aims to boost financial literacy, productivity, and income-generation among farmers and livestock raisers across the country.

Utilizing a gamified approach, KITA Mo Na! sessions are led by game masters and present real-life financial scenarios to help farmers make informed money decisions. Topics include saving, budgeting, debt management, and scam prevention.

As of end-2024, the initiative has reached 870 beneficiaries nationwide. BDO Foundation president Mario Deriquito said the recognition is a motivation to continue supporting national financial inclusion efforts and empowering farming communities.
