Latest adjustments show net increase of P8.65 per liter for gasoline

Fuel oil retailers have adopted a mixed bag of price adjustments after a two-week series of hikes.

Seaoil increased the per liter price of its gasoline by P0.30 and kerosene by another P0.10 but cut the price of its diesel by P0.40.

Clean Fuel recalibrated its gasoline price P0.30 per liter higher but lowered the price of diesel by P0.40 per liter.

Caltex Philippines Inc. raised the price of its premium and regular fuels by P0.30 per liter and its kerosene by P0.10 per liter but cut the price of its diesel product by P0.40 per liter.

The adjustments were traced to the tightening of crude supplies due to output cuts announced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other producers led by Russia resulting to a supply deficit.

According to the Department of Energy (DOE), the price per liter of gasoline at the pumps (RON95) averages P65.65, diesel at P59 and kerosene at P70.38.

DOE data as of April 12 show year-to-date adjustments as a net decrease of P1.95 per liter for diesel and P3.45 per liter for kerosene but a net increase of P8.65 per liter for gasoline.
