PAL boosting domestic flights ahead of peak travel season

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced on Thursday that it will increase its domestic flight operations starting October, in preparation for the anticipated surge in travel demand during the peak season. The airline will operate 1,154 domestic flights weekly, marking a 7 percent increase in flights and adding over 14,000 seats to its network out of Manila.

The expansion includes increased services on key domestic routes such as Manila–Butuan, Manila–Cagayan de Oro, Manila–Cotabato, Manila–Legazpi (Daraga), Manila–Dumaguete, and Manila–Tacloban. Daily flights between Manila and Siargao will continue, along with 21 weekly flights between Cebu and Siargao, and daily service from Clark to Siargao, offering more options for travelers from different regions.

PAL is also ramping up flights to major tourist destinations, including Boracay, Coron, Antique, and Catarman. In addition, five of PAL’s weekly Manila–Iloilo–Manila flights will be upgraded to Airbus A330 widebody aircraft from December 8, 2025, to March 28, 2026.

According to PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang, the expanded flight network is part of the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity across the Philippines, supporting tourism, and contributing to local economic recovery.
