Aboitiz Power Corp., the power generation and distribution unit of the Aboitiz Group, posted a net income of P10.6 billion in the third quarter, a 5 percent gain from the year-earlier period, driven mainly by improved margins from its generation segment.
AbotizPower said profitability also got a boost from reduced exposure to the volatile spot market, and by higher water inflows at its hydroelectric plants.
For the first nine months of 2025, AboitizPower generated P56.3 billion in beneficial earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, largely unchanged from P56.1 billion during the same period in 2024. Fresh contributions from Chromite Gas Holdings Inc. and new solar facilities in Laoag (159 MWp), Armenia (45 MWp), and Calatrava (173 MWp) offset the impact of lower spot market prices.
Core net income reached P23.1 billion, compared to P27.2 billion in the same period last year, reflecting the full recognition of depreciation and interest expenses from GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co., which began in March 2024. Including foreign exchange and derivative gains, total net income for the nine-month period was P23.3 billion.
Energy sold climbed 19 percent to 32,138 gigawatt-hours, while the distribution business recorded a 2 percent increase in EBITDA to P7.0 billion, supported by a 5 percent rise in energy sales to 5,166 GWh.
AboitizPower said it remains focused on expanding its renewable portfolio while improving operational efficiency across its generation and distribution businesses.
