Cesar Buenaventura passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 96.
CAB, as Buenaventura is known in the business community for his stellar leadership and enduring influence. He was the first Filipino CEO and Chairman of the Shell Group in the Philippines and served as a member of the Monetary Board under President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s administration.
CAB also served on the boards of multiple companies, including Concepcion Industrial Corporation, DMCI Holdings, Inc., International Container Terminal Services, Inc., PetroEnergy Resources Corporation, and Manila Water Company, Inc.
Buenaventura was a member of the Makati Business Club (MBC) board for 27 years (1981 to 2008).
