MacroAsia breaks ground on aviation hub

MacroAsia Corp. (MAC), through its majority-owned unit MacroAsia Airport Services Corp. (MASCORP), has begun construction of a new six-story headquarters aimed at strengthening its aviation services operations, following a formal groundbreaking ceremony held today.

The facility will rise on a MASCORP-owned site along Sunrise Street in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City, close to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). With more than 8,600 square meters of gross floor area, the building is designed to bring together administrative, operational, and executive offices of MacroAsia’s aviation services units under one roof. It will also house the MacroAsia Group’s planned shared services center, consolidating groupwide support functions into a single operational hub.

The project represents a P400 million investment and will be funded through a bank financing facility with Security Bank. Construction is targeted for completion by March 2027.

Beyond operational efficiency, the new headquarters carries a strategic commercial angle. In addition to supporting MASCORP’s core aviation activities at NAIA, the facility will offer office space for third-party leasing, opening up potential long-term recurring revenue streams. Analysts note that this dual-purpose design reflects a broader push by infrastructure-linked companies to extract more value from owned real estate assets.

For MacroAsia, the project signals confidence in the long-term growth of aviation and airport-related services despite lingering industry volatility. By centralizing functions and investing in modern facilities near the country’s main gateway, the company is positioning itself for scale, efficiency, and diversification—key factors as passenger traffic and aviation support demand continue to recover and expand.
