ATRAM Trust Corporation (ATC) has completed its merger with UnionBank Investment Management and Trust Corporation (UBIMTC) after securing approvals from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The merger took effect on January 9, 2026, with ATC as the surviving entity. ATC has assumed all fiduciary and investment management duties previously handled by UBIMTC.
The transaction is the first merger between trust corporations in the Philippines, marking a major milestone for the local trust and investment management industry. It signals a shift toward greater scale, specialization, and stronger governance, carried out under close regulatory oversight to ensure client protection and service continuity.
ATC president Deanno J. Basas said the merger combines the complementary strengths of both firms and positions ATC to offer a wider range of investment, wealth, and trust solutions while maintaining high standards of governance and risk management.
The integration brings together ATC’s investment management capabilities with UBIMTC’s digital platform and UnionBank-linked client base, strengthening service delivery and supporting innovation across trust and asset management services.
With the merger completed, ATC strengthens its leadership in the Philippine trust sector and sets a benchmark for future industry consolidation.
