BCDA courts Japanese investors for Clark projects

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and its subsidiaries pitched a range of current and upcoming projects to Japanese companies on 23 January 2026, highlighting new investment opportunities in Clark and other BCDA areas.

The event, held with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), brought together Japanese firms with expertise in infrastructure, water and wastewater treatment, industrial parks, energy and energy transition, agriculture, information technology, and public-private partnerships. JBIC, a Japanese government financial institution, supports overseas projects that promote green growth and help address social and environmental challenges.

BCDA officials said the pitching builds on a recently signed memorandum of understanding with JBIC, which aims to attract Japanese participation in projects focused on quality infrastructure, sustainability, and energy transition.

Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) used the event to showcase investment-ready projects within the Clark Aviation Capital. These include the Clark National Food Hub, an Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program, the Clark International Aviation Campus, and the Clark Pharmaceutical Hub. CIAC President and CEO Jojit Alcazar said partnerships with Japanese companies could create jobs and improve the quality of life for Filipinos.

Representatives from the Clark Development Corp., John Hay Management Corp., and Poro Point Management Corp. also joined the discussions, signaling a broader pipeline of opportunities across BCDA-managed areas.

BCDA and CIAC said the strong interest from Japanese firms underscores Clark’s potential as a major business, logistics, and aviation hub, with projects designed to support long-term economic growth while meeting environmental and social goals.
