Alsons Power turns over first Day Care Center in Sarangani

Alsons Power Group has turned over its first Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Center in Sarangani province, marking a new step in its community development efforts.

The 48-square-meter day care center is located in Barangay Amsipit, Maasim. It was built through the company’s Maasim-based units, Sarangani Energy Corp. and Siguil Hydro Power Corp., in partnership with the local government of Maasim and Barangay Amsipit officials. The land was donated by the Mad family.

The facility will provide a safe and dedicated learning space for more than 50 preschool children from Sitio Tahakayo and nearby sitios Lebe, Makmal, Kabkal, and Titip.

Company officials said the project shows that their role in communities goes beyond providing electricity. They stressed that education is just as important as power in improving quality of life.

While Alsons Power has long supported high school and college scholars, it recognized the need to invest in early childhood education, especially in rural areas where preschool classrooms are often lacking.

Aside from building the facility, the company said it will also support teacher and volunteer training through the Conrado and Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation Inc. to help ensure quality instruction.

Company officials described the project as an investment in the future, saying that helping young children build a strong foundation is key to long-term community growth.
