Filipino shoppers browse fashion but buy essentials during Shoppers Browse Fashion but buy Shopee 3.3 Sale

E-commerce platform Shopee reported a 19 percent increase in orders during its 3.3 sale, showing more Filipinos are joining major online shopping events.

Data from the campaign shows a clear trend: shoppers often browse for fashion items but end up buying practical needs. The most searched products were all fashion-related, including women’s sandals, dresses, slippers, shoes, and men’s shorts. However, these items did not rank among the top purchases.

Instead, buyers focused on everyday essentials. Top purchases included cooking oil, baby diapers, snacks, and small personal items like lip tints and lipsticks. Accessories such as cardholders were also popular.

Shopee said this reflects how Filipinos shop with priorities in mind—focusing on household needs while allowing room for small personal treats.

Fashion remained an important category for browsing and product discovery, especially for women’s accessories, which saw strong sales conversions. Meanwhile, beauty products stood out as the only non-essential items consistently included in purchases.

The data also showed that both international and local brands performed well during the sale. Global names like Maybelline appeared alongside Filipino brands such as Issy and BASH among top-selling products.

Shopee Live also saw strong growth, with sales rising 84% compared to a regular day. Items bought during live sessions included essentials like cooking oil and diapers, as well as beauty products.

Overall, Shopee said the results highlight a more deliberate shopping behavior among Filipinos in 2026—browsing widely but buying based on clear needs and priorities.
