Toyota Philippines profit hits record on EV push

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) booked a record P19 billion net income in 2025, up 18.9 percent from P16.03 billion a year earlier, parent GT Capital Holdings reported, as strong vehicle demand and an expanding electrified lineup lifted results.

Retail sales rose 5.2 percent to an all-time high of 229,447 units from 218,106 in 2024, buoyed by sustained demand for core models such as the Vios and Avanza.

The growth pushed TMP’s market share to 46.7 percent, securing its 24th straight Triple Crown—awarded to the industry leader in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and overall sales.

Electrified vehicles gained traction, accounting for 8.5 percent of total sales in 2025, a sharp jump from just 0.33 percent in 2020.

Top-selling hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) models included the Zenix, Yaris Cross, and Corolla Cross. TMP also widened its electrified portfolio with the launch of the all-new Toyota ATIV, positioned as its most affordable HEV, and the bZ4X, its first full battery electric vehicle (BEV) offering in the Philippine market.

The company further reinforced its position in the light commercial vehicle segment, with the Next Generation Tamaraw hitting its target of 2,000 average monthly sales in the fourth quarter.

TMP President Masando Hashimoto said the company’s “multi-pathway approach” continues to provide customers with a range of mobility options, helping address shifting preferences and ongoing fuel cost pressures.
