Leading fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is increasing its workforce to support its expanding digital infrastructure across the country.
This comes after the company launched its national digital infrastructure in Pampanga and raised its capital spending by 30 percent to strengthen its network. To match these investments, Converge is hiring more technicians to expand coverage and improve customer service.
CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said the company wants to address the shortage of skilled Filipino technicians, many of whom seek jobs abroad. The hiring campaign aims to build a stronger local workforce.
Since late 2025, Converge has held weekly recruitment activities, including job fairs, regional caravans, and partnerships with schools and government agencies. These efforts have led to the hiring of nearly 600 technicians in early 2026, covering roles such as network maintenance and service operations.
According to HR head Mylene Sardinia, the company is also bringing job opportunities closer to communities by working with local groups and training institutions. This allows technicians to work near their homes while serving their areas.
Converge is also investing in training programs with organizations like Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to develop new technicians, including those without prior experience. Internal programs for skills upgrading and leadership development are also in place.
The company’s hiring push supports the government’s goal of improving digital infrastructure under the national connectivity plan. Henry Aguda said the country is beginning to move from addressing connectivity gaps to building a more reliable and forward-looking network.
