TikTok Shop widens Unlad Lokal MSME push nationwide

TikTok Shop is expanding its Unlad Lokal Roadshow Caravan to Marikina, Muntinlupa, and Taytay, aiming to accelerate digital adoption among Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Launched in 2025, Unlad Lokal has trained nearly 25,000 MSMEs, equipping entrepreneurs with tools to build and scale their presence on TikTok Shop.

The program combines seller onboarding with practical instruction in short-form video, LIVE selling, and platform advertising—key levers for boosting product discovery and customer engagement.

“For many small businesses, the challenge is translating what they already do well into a digital environment,” said Yves Gonzalez. “Through Unlad Lokal, we provide hands-on support, connecting sellers with the right tools while helping make their products more discoverable to new audiences.”

The Marikina leg spotlighted local craftsmanship, drawing nearly 100 footwear and bag makers. In partnership with the Filipino Footwear Alliance Association and Department of Trade and Industry Marikina, sessions focused on translating heritage and product quality into stronger online visibility.

Meanwhile, stops in Muntinlupa and Taytay centered on hands-on onboarding and content creation, including LIVE selling demonstrations. Local government units and DTI offices supported the sessions, reinforcing public-private collaboration to expand MSME market access.

TikTok Shop said the caravan is designed to create practical pathways for MSMEs to thrive online, strengthening local enterprises while contributing to the Philippines’ fast-growing e-commerce sector.
