The Japanese government has extended the application deadline for nurses and careworkers applying to work in Japan under the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA). Interested applicants now have until April 24, 2026 to submit their requirements.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in partnership with the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS), is offering 50 positions for nurses (Kangoshi) and 300 positions for careworkers (Kaigofukushishi).
Successful applicants will receive free Japanese language training for one year—six months in the Philippines and six months in Japan. A daily allowance will also be provided during the training period.
After completing training, candidates will work in Japanese hospitals and care facilities for three to four years. They are also encouraged to obtain Japanese professional licenses, which may allow them to stay and work in Japan for a longer period.
