The Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) reinforced its dominance in the country’s financial markets after clinching top honors once again at the Philippine Dealing System Annual Awards held March 26 at Makati Diamond Hotel.
In a standout achievement, Metrobank secured the Cesar E.A. Virata Award for an unprecedented 11th consecutive year—the longest streak ever recorded—cementing its leadership in fixed-income securities trading.
The bank also swept major categories, emerging as a top fixed income dealing participant, leading corporate securities market maker, and top dealing participant for corporate securities, while ranking fifth in fixed income brokering.
Metrobank said the string of awards highlights its consistent strength in trading, distribution, and market-making, even as financial markets face heightened uncertainty.
Jikee Reyes, Deputy Head of the bank’s Financial Markets Sector, emphasized that the recognition underscores Metrobank’s disciplined approach and commitment to stability, adding that the institution remains focused on ensuring orderly market conditions and sustaining client trust.
With over six decades of service, Metrobank continues to position itself as a key player in the financial sector. It has also been named the country’s strongest bank for five straight years by The Asian Banker, further reinforcing its reputation for stability and reliability.
