Fuel prices are set to move upward again this week, with gasoline and diesel increasing for the third straight week, while kerosene will get another price cut, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
The DOE said fuel firms may raise pump prices starting Tuesday by up to ₱1.21 per liter for gasoline and ₱2.82 per liter for diesel, while kerosene prices are expected to drop by at least ₱2.21 per liter.
Some oil companies have already announced their adjustments. Seaoil Philippines will increase gasoline by ₱1.21 and diesel by ₱2.82, but cut kerosene by ₱2.11. Jetti Petroleum will also raise gasoline and diesel prices but does not sell kerosene.
This follows last week’s mixed movement, when gasoline went up slightly while diesel and kerosene saw sharp rollbacks.
At the same time, DOE data shows the country’s fuel stockpile is declining again. Total supply now stands at 45.33 days, down from over 50 days the previous week. All major fuel types recorded decreases, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas.
Despite the drop, Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said the situation is not alarming, noting that global supply chains remain stable and the government continues to monitor oil inventories closely.
The combined rise in fuel prices and shrinking stockpile signals continued pressure on transport costs and household budgets, even as authorities assure that supply remains sufficient. It also highlights ongoing volatility in global oil markets, which continues to affect local pump prices week by week.
