Philippine electronics manufacturer EMS Group is accelerating capacity expansion as global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure fuels a surge in orders for power supply components and circuit boards used in high-performance computing systems.
EMS president Ferdinand Ferrer said AI-related products now contribute around 15 percent to 17 percent of the company’s EMS business, with the segment projected to account for as much as 25 percent as demand continues to climb.
“The latest trend is AI. We should double our capacity by September,” Ferrer said.
He noted that EMS has already started scaling up production after seeing stronger order volumes tied to AI applications.
The expansion began in the fourth quarter of 2025, when EMS moved to increase output in response to growing global investment in AI data centers and computing hardware.
Ferrer said the company supplies power systems and circuit boards that are integrated into larger platforms by international clients, particularly in the US.
Rather than pursuing a large-scale factory buildout, EMS is taking a measured approach by upgrading and reconfiguring existing facilities in Laguna to improve efficiency and output capacity.
Industry observers say the move reflects how Southeast Asian electronics manufacturers are positioning themselves to benefit from the AI infrastructure boom, particularly in areas linked to power management and server components.
However, Ferrer cautioned that competition across the region remains intense, while demand in non-AI business segments has yet to fully recover.
