Security Bank has won two major awards at The Asian Banker Global Financial Technology Innovation Awards 2026. It took home Best Mobile Banking Technology Initiative in Asia Pacific for its Security Bank App, and Best Payment Technology Initiative in Asia Pacific for its partnership with ACI Worldwide.
The awards recognize the bank’s upgrades to digital banking and payment systems, designed to make services simpler, faster, and more reliable.
The Security Bank App now lets users open accounts, transfer funds, pay bills, and manage finances fully within the platform. Since improvements launched, registered users have passed 1.4 million and transactions rose by 40%. Senior VP Myla Untalan noted the win confirms the bank is delivering on its “BetterBanking” promise by removing hurdles for customers.
Meanwhile, the collaboration with ACI Worldwide unified payment systems into one platform supporting real-time processing and the ISO 20022 global standard. The upgrade tripled processing capacity and lifted transaction volumes by 35%, boosting reliability and scalability. EVP John Cary Ong emphasized that a modern, unified system strengthens customer trust and readiness for digital growth.
Both wins highlight how Security Bank turns technology into practical benefits—easy self-service and secure, fast payments. The bank says it will continue expanding digital capabilities to serve more people efficiently.
