PLDT Enterprise rolled out free WiFi in quake-hit areas — General Santos City, Sarangani, Glan, Jose Abad Santos, and parts of Davao Occidental — serving thousands of residents.
With DICT, it also set up Starlink links at key government sites and hospitals like Malungon and Sarangani Provincial Hospitals.
Open to all networks (Smart, TNT, Globe, TM, DITO), the service hits over 100 Mbps, per DICT.
“Our goal is to help and connect all affected Filipinos,” said COO Butch Jimenez.
PLDT and Smart have restored 90 percent of services and aim to finish by weekend.
