Metrobank has partnered with Mastercard to join its global Priceless Causes initiative, turning routine card transactions into tangible environmental action. Launched in line with Philippine Environment Month this June 2026, the collaboration gives cardholders a simple way to support reforestation efforts without altering their usual spending habits.
Under the program, every P2,000 spent using a Metrobank Mastercard debit or credit card on June 30 will fund the planting of one tree in the customer’s name. The initiative will continue beyond Environment Month: from June 30 to December 31, 2026, credit card users may also convert their rewards points into contributions. Every 8,000 points redeemed via the Metrobank App or SMS will cover the planting of four trees.
All reforestation activities are overseen by Conservation International, a leading global nonprofit that combines science and policy to advance environmental protection and community well-being.
“This partnership lets everyday spending do something more meaningful. It’s our way of helping customers not just manage their finances, but also support causes that matter, making impact part of daily life,” said Gail Male, head of Metrobank Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Digital Channels Group.
Jason Crasto, Mastercard country manager, added: “We are happy to partner with Metrobank and enable their clients to make a positive impact on the environment. Together, we are turning everyday purchases into opportunities to support reforestation and create lasting impact.”
For Metrobank, the tie-up carries strong corporate significance: it aligns its financial services with growing consumer demand for sustainable options, strengthens its brand as a responsible financial partner, and expands value beyond transactions. Mastercard’s Priceless Causes platform connects banks, customers, and nonprofits to advance shared social and environmental goals, making this collaboration a practical step toward embedding sustainability into mainstream banking.
The program requires no extra fees or complex steps—participation is as simple as using a Metrobank Mastercard for daily purchases or redeeming accumulated rewards points.
