Aboitiz Group helping professionalize meat industry sector workers with Tesda, IVTSI

Aboitiz-led Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corp. has teamed up with Infinity Vocational Training School Inc. (IVTSI) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to deliver hands-on training at its Tarlac Meatmasters facility—the country’s first Triple AAA-accredited multi-meat processing plant.

Launched this week, the program offers TESDA-certified courses in Slaughtering Operations and Retail Meat Cutting. Unlike standard classroom learning, trainees work directly in an active production environment, rotating through key areas such as lairage, slaughter and cutting rooms, and cold storage. They will master industry standards for food safety, quality, precision, and teamwork, while gaining exposure to Pilmico’s systems in animal nutrition, biosecurity, and cold chain management.

Graduating pioneer students will receive a TESDA National Certificate II, giving them an advantage for jobs locally and abroad. Following the pilot phase, partners aim to train up to 50 participants by the end of 2026.

Pilmico operates under the unified Aboitiz Foods brand, a leading regional producer with 4.2 million metric tons of annual feed capacity and facilities across eight Asia-Pacific nations. Earlier this year, the group announced a P5.2-billion capital expenditure budget for 2026, focused on expanding Philippine feed operations, automating processes, and strengthening R&D.
