Listed PhilWeb Corp. is expanding beyond its traditional role as a gaming operator, striking an exclusive partnership with global gaming content provider Pragmatic Play to strengthen its position as a technology partner for the Philippines’ regulated online gaming industry.
The agreement positions PhilWeb to capitalize on the sector’s accelerating digital transformation by providing the technology infrastructure that enables licensed operators to expand their online gaming offerings more efficiently.
Under the partnership, PhilWeb will deliver hosted services through remote technology infrastructure and API-enabled integration, giving licensed gaming operators access to Pragmatic Play’s extensive portfolio of gaming content. The services are expected to launch in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and final contractual arrangements.
The deal represents a strategic shift for the company toward higher-margin, technology-driven services that generate recurring revenues instead of relying primarily on gaming operations.
“This partnership represents an important milestone in PhilWeb’s long-term strategy of expanding its technology-enabled gaming services business. By collaborating with one of the industry’s leading international gaming services providers, we are positioned to broaden our commercial relationships with licensed operators while creating a scalable and recurring revenue stream through technology-enabled services,” said PhilWeb President Edgar Brian K. Ng.
The exclusive arrangement is expected to strengthen PhilWeb’s market position by leveraging Pragmatic Play’s strong presence among licensed online gaming operators in the Philippines. Acting as a single technology gateway could help operators deploy new gaming content faster while simplifying systems integration.
Beyond the immediate commercial opportunity, the partnership provides PhilWeb with a platform to pursue similar collaborations with other international gaming content providers, potentially expanding its portfolio of technology-enabled services.
The move reflects a broader evolution in the gaming industry, where technology platforms and digital infrastructure are becoming as valuable as gaming content itself. As more operators migrate online, companies that provide the backbone connecting content providers with licensed platforms stand to capture a growing share of industry revenues while supporting the modernization of the country’s regulated gaming ecosystem.
