The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Human Resources Development Foundation gathered educators, industry leaders, and policymakers to review the proposed General Education curriculum overhaul. The goal is to better match higher education with labor market needs while keeping focus on critical thinking and ethical values.
PCCI president Perry Ferrer said the review will remove repeated lessons and build skills for a competitive, innovation-driven economy and integrated ASEAN region. Though implementation is delayed to 2028, he urged broad participation in shaping reforms.
Insights from the discussion will become policy recommendations to be presented at the 52nd Philippine Business Conference & Expo on October 13–14, 2026, at The Manila Hotel. PCCI stresses close cooperation among government, schools, and businesses is key to producing employable and globally competitive graduates.
