Globe boosts Pavia network with over 10 5G sites to support local growth

Globe has upgraded its network in Pavia, launching more than 10 5G sites alongside over 15 existing cell sites to deliver faster, more reliable mobile services for residents, businesses, and visitors.

The expansion responds to the municipality’s rising digital demands as it grows into a major commercial, industrial, and agricultural hub in Iloilo. Improved 5G connectivity enables quicker downloads and uploads, smoother streaming and video calls, and faster online services—supporting everyday activities from online selling and digital payments to customer communications.

“Pavia has seen significant growth over the years, and reliable connectivity is important as we create more opportunities for our people. Better digital access can help our local businesses reach more customers, promote Pavia as a destination, and allow our communities to benefit from services and opportunities online,” said Pavia Mayor Laurence Anthony “Luigi” Gorriceta.

The municipality hosts expanding commerce, industry, and agriculture, and was named the “Sorbete Capital of Iloilo” in June 2026—particularly Barangay Anilao—honoring its famed local ice cream makers. Stronger internet access will help showcase these local products, boost tourism, and connect entrepreneurs to wider markets.

“Pavia continues to grow as a center for business and livelihood in Iloilo, and we want our network to grow with it. By strengthening 5G connectivity in the municipality, we are helping give residents and businesses a better mobile experience while supporting the opportunities that come with Pavia’s continued development,” said Jimbo Cordero, Globe General Manager for Visayas.

The rollout is part of Globe’s ongoing investments across the Visayas. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, the company added 408 new 5G sites nationwide, bringing outdoor 5G population coverage to over 98% in Metro Manila and key cities across the Visayas and Mindanao.
