The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has ordered the unauthorized Facebook page “Cash-Express Payday Loan” to cease operations immediately. The page is illegally copying the name and branding of legitimate firm Cash-Express Philippines Financing Inc., which has confirmed it has no link or affiliation with the account whatsoever.
The SEC stressed that lending and financing services are strictly regulated. No one may offer such services without first securing official authority from the commission — and operating online does not exempt anyone from this rule. The page holds no Certificate of Authority, and the SEC acted swiftly to stop the deception before the public suffers financial losses.
In a separate advisory, the SEC also warned against investing in “Aling Jackie’s Kitchen.” Operators Jacky Lyn Tabernero and Juan Paolo Suasola are soliciting funds on social media with promises of guaranteed 5% monthly returns and full principal refund. The public is reminded that this investment scheme is unauthorized and carries significant risks.
