Nissan Philippines is stepping up its electrification push, bringing the Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid and Primera electric vehicle (EV) to the local market in November as it expands its lineup beyond conventional vehicles.
The two models will join the Kicks e-POWER and X-Trail e-POWER, giving Filipino motorists more options across hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric technologies.
“With e-POWER, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric vehicle technologies, customers can choose the electrified solution that best fits their needs, driving habits, and lifestyles,” Nissan Philippines President Yoshinori Kanazawa said at the company’s Nissan Vision Press Conference.
The Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid combines the brand’s pickup and four-wheel-drive heritage with electrification, while the Primera EV introduces a new generation of electric executive sedans to Nissan’s local portfolio.

The launches also highlight Nissan’s growing reliance on regional manufacturing partnerships to accelerate new model introductions. Nissan ASEAN and Thailand President Masao Tsutsumi said the Philippines is among the first export destinations for vehicles produced through the automaker’s partnerships in China.
These include collaborations with Dongfeng Nissan and Zhengzhou Nissan, which Nissan is leveraging to strengthen its regional competitiveness and expand its electrified offerings.
The product rollout aligns with the company’s global Re transformation strategy, which aims to make the business leaner, more agile and resilient.
Management Committee Chair Shohei Yamazaki said the expansion supports that broader direction, as Nissan pursues multiple electrification technologies instead of relying solely on battery-electric vehicles.
Nissan Philippines currently operates 44 dealerships nationwide and plans to introduce additional products and technologies tailored to local market needs.
With two new electrified models arriving in November, Nissan is broadening its local portfolio as automakers compete to capture demand for more efficient mobility options in the Philippines.
