Duty Free Philippines has opened a store at Bohol-Panglao International Airport, expanding retail options for eligible international travelers as the airport operator seeks to strengthen commercial services and support the province’s tourism industry.
The outlet, located in the airport’s international departures area, opened on July 14, 2026, and operates daily from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Its operating hours position the store to serve passengers traveling on evening and early-morning international flights.
Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA), operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corporation (ABAC), has been developing its retail, dining and passenger services as part of efforts to improve the terminal experience and broaden its commercial offerings.
“As BPIA continues to strengthen its role as a gateway to Bohol, we also want to make sure our passengers have more options while they are at the airport. Bringing in more retail offerings like Duty Free Philippines gives travelers greater choice and contributes to creating a more complete, world-class airport experience, whether they are arriving in Bohol or heading home,” said BPIA General Manager Aldwin C. Uy.
The new store complements existing retail outlets, food concessions and businesses offering locally oriented products and services. Its addition broadens the airport’s commercial mix, although access to duty- and tax-free purchases remains subject to passenger eligibility and applicable regulations.
Duty Free Philippines is a government-licensed retailer serving qualified international travelers with duty- and tax-free merchandise. Under Bureau of Customs rules, eligible customers include arriving foreign and Filipino travelers, balikbayans, overseas Filipino workers and departing passengers with confirmed international bookings, subject to prescribed purchase limits.
The opening comes as Bohol continues to attract domestic and international visitors, placing greater importance on airport services that support the overall travel experience. For ABAC, expanding commercial facilities offers an opportunity to diversify passenger services and develop airport-based retail activity alongside aviation operations.
The store’s contribution to passenger spending and airport revenues remains to be seen, but its launch adds another retail option at Bohol’s principal air gateway.
