The Department of Tourism is tapping the drawing power of BINI and actor Alden Richards to promote Philippine destinations, linking pop culture with regional diplomacy, heritage and cycling tourism.
Tourism ambassadors BINI are lending their voices to the Philippines’ ASEAN hosting through “Sama Sama Tayo,” paying tribute to the 48th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Cebu.
The initiative builds on the DOT’s recognition of the group’s ability to reach audiences locally and overseas, including through performances showcasing Filipino culture and traditional clothing.
The DOT said it recognizes the power of BINI and the influence that they have in bringing viewers, not even just within the Philippines but also from abroad.

Richards, meanwhile, will lead FunRide PH, a cycling event developed by multimedia company Myriad in partnership with the DOT.
Scheduled for December 19 at the Quirino Grandstand, the event offers five-, 10- and 21-kilometer categories for beginners and experienced cyclists. Its proposed routes pass through Intramuros, Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila Bay and the National Museum Complex.
Participants may use road, mountain, folding and electric bicycles.
Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay said the event would encourage visitors to rediscover Manila’s attractions while promoting healthier lifestyles and environmentally responsible transportation.
Richards said the partnership broadens the event’s reach by highlighting the country’s existing cultural and scenic assets.
“This is just a kick-off,” he said, announcing plans for provincial and city editions next year.
Together, the initiatives give tourism promotion more avenues to reach fans and encourage exploration of Philippine destinations.
