Singapore-based mobility technology firm Multipolitan is preparing to open a Manila office and expand its technology team after raising USD2 million in seed funding, adding to demand for Filipino developers as the company builds a platform for international travelers and migrants.
The company said Manila would serve as a product development base as it expands across Asia, drawing on the city’s pool of mobile and full-stack developers. It did not disclose hiring targets, the amount earmarked for the Philippine expansion or an office opening date.
The funding round, led by venture studio EmergentX, valued Multipolitan at USD25 million before the investment. The proceeds will support the global launch of its free consumer application in December 2026 and the expansion of its Private Client business.
The platform aims to consolidate information that travelers and migrants often have to retrieve from multiple systems, including passport and visa records, entry requirements, travel documents and flight updates.
Its features include family document management, deadline reminders, and tools to track time spent abroad and remaining stay allowances, potentially easing the administrative burden of moving across borders.
“As more Filipinos travel, work, study, and build lives across borders, we see growing demand for clear, connected mobility support,” co-founder Nirbhay Handa said.
The company also sees an opportunity in the Philippines’ growing community of digital nomads, making the country both a potential market for its services and a source of technology talent.
Multipolitan currently employs more than 40 people across Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bengaluru. It plans to add Manila and Kuala Lumpur to its office network.
Its Private Client business has generated more than USD4 million in net revenue in less than two years. A premium version of the application is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2027.
The Manila expansion gives the company access to a deep technology workforce, although the scale of local hiring and investment will become clearer once it sets out its operating plans.
