Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is stepping up to bridge the digital divide in some of the country’s most isolated areas, bringing connectivity, educational tools, and essential support to underserved learners across the hinterlands.
Working with adventure motorbike group RAMTAT Ph, the company delivered tablets and school supplies to Ansipsip Elementary School and Domolpos Elementary School in the mountains of Nueva Vizcaya. A team of 11 riders traveled about an hour and a half from Kayapa Municipal Hall to reach Ansipsip, and another hour onward to Domolpos, navigating difficult terrain just to reach students who often stay in school dormitories for months at a time, returning home only once a month or even longer. “These kids learn to live independently early. This is the sacrifice they make to receive education,” said Barangay Ansipsip chief Angel Caruncon.
In Zambales, Converge installed free satellite internet service at the ADBSA Aeta Integrated School, which serves more than 300 elementary and high school learners. Before the school was established, students would have had to walk five kilometers along rough, unpaved roads with no public transport just to get to the nearest learning center. School head Romualdo Montefalcon Cañeda thanked the company, saying the connection will help teachers access better teaching materials and open up new learning opportunities for students. Through its local partner Probus Ventures Inc., the school received a Starlink Mini unit with 50 gigabytes of data monthly for one year at no cost. Dennis Aquino, PVI general manager, shared that the company aims to reach every community in its service areas and plans to volunteer classroom repairs and repainting at the school in the coming school year.
The company also extended help in Eastern Visayas, providing financial support to San Isidro National High School in Samar to fix damaged classroom ceilings worn down by years of typhoons. Converge Vice President Juliana Encarnado emphasized the company’s commitment to leaving no one behind. “We believe that using technology for good is the way for us to make an impact and inspire these children, and show them how exciting their future can be,” she said.
