Jollibee Foods Corp. on Thursday said its flagship brand in Singapore opened its first drive-thru location at the Caltex Jurong Spring station.
The store marks Jollibee’s 20th store in Singapore and the first artificial intelligence-assisted drive-thru store in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, excluding the Philippines, region.
Dennis Flores, president of Jollibee Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia said the company was delighted at the consumers’ reception of its first Singapore drive-thru store.
The opening of Singapore’s first drive-thru follows the recent Jollibee store opening in Malaysia where the brand opened its 10th location at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
In the first six months this year, Jollibee opened 38 stores globally, 23 of which were opened outside the Philippines.
Its accelerated international expansion forms part of the company’s vision to be among the top five restaurant companies in the world.
The company said it is confident of exceeding its targets this year and optimistic on the rebound of the economy and in all other places that Jollibee currently operates.
Richard Shin, Jollibee CFO, said the company was pleasantly surprised it had operating income of 50 percent in the first half, despite its high base of growth last year.
Jollibee early this month reported first half profit down 6 percent of only P4.69 billion from last year’s P4.99 billion. Revenue totaled P164 billion or 23 percent higher than last year’s P133.12 billion.
