DITO confidently forecasts hurdling fifth and final NTC audit in July

DITO Telecommunity Corp. is confident of passing the fifth and final National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) performance audit set in July 2024.

DTO chief technology officer Rodolfo Santiago said the company is on track to hit national population coverage of 84 percent by July 2024 from 82 percent at the moment.

“We are targeting 86 percent to 87 percent coverage before the end of the year,” he said.

DITO earlier passed the fourth performance audit when it posted a national population cover of 80.65 percent.

With respect to the minimum average broadband speed (MABS), DITO was clocked at 74.97 megabits per second on 4G broadcast and 639.32 Mbps for 5G in all sites with a combined MABS of 357.14 Mbps.

The company previously set aside between P25 billion and P30 billion as capital expenditures (capex) this year to fund an aggressive nationwide network rollout.

“Our capex guidance is a bit tempered. It should be anywhere between P25 billion to P30 billion,” Eric Alberto, DITO chief executive said.

Last year, the company set aside P27 billion as capex.

DITO is targets acquiring 15 to 20 percent market share this year from 10 percent at present. DITO has more than 10 million registered subscribers.

“We are confident that with our better and brand new network we have reasons to gain our rightful share of the market,” the DITO chief executive said.
