D&L Batangas plant posts quarterly profit in 2Q; focuses on coconut-based products

D&L Industries Inc. said its Batangas facility achieved its first quarterly profit in the second quarter, less than a year since the factory started commercial operations in July last year.

D&L’s Batangas factory, which sits on a 26-hectare property, produces high-value coconut oil-derived ingredients and finished products for the food, personal hygiene, and home care segments in the export market.

The facility specializes in research and development and product innovation, and is poised to showcase innovative ingredients derived from indigenous Philippine coconuts on the global stage.

Natura Aeropack Corporation and D&L Premium Foods Corp. are the two operating companies behind the Batangas plant.

As concerns grow over massive deforestation linked to palm oil production and the depletion of non-renewable energy sources, coconut-derived ingredients present a natural, organic, and sustainable alternative for various industries and applications.

“I’m quite proud of what we have built here in Batangas, both from business and sustainability perspectives,” said NAC president and chief executive officer Dean Lao Jr. in a statement.

“This plant unlocks the next chapter of growth for D&L, and at the same time, it is a true reflection of our advocacy to model a truly sustainable operation,” Lao added.

With its commitment to sustainability and innovation, D&L is well-positioned to lead the way in providing eco-friendly solutions that benefit both the environment and the economy.
