DITO invests P50 million to boost digital experience at Clark International Airport

DITO Telecommunity has partnered with Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corp. to enhance the digital experience at Clark International Airport, investing P50 million over the next two years to offer passengers and stakeholders high-speed Wi-Fi services powered by DITO’s 5G infrastructure.

Eric Alberto, president and CEO of DITO, emphasized the company’s vision of a “brighter future for the Filipino people,” driven by 5G technology. “We now serve millions of Filipinos and actively engage in community-building efforts, government programs, and cultural celebrations nationwide,” he said. “This partnership with Clark International Airport symbolizes our shared commitment to innovation and excellence.”

To elevate the passenger experience, DITO is deploying working tables with charging stations, as well as SIM vending machines in strategic locations throughout the airport. The tables are designed for passengers to charge their devices while relaxing or working, while the kiosks offer quick and convenient charging solutions. Additionally, travelers can easily purchase DITO SIM cards upon arrival for seamless connectivity.

As the tourism sector recovers, DITO’s investment reflects its commitment to improving services for Filipinos and welcoming tourists to the Philippines. In 2022, Clark International Airport welcomed 629,000 international tourists and 140,000 domestic passengers. This year, passenger traffic has surged to 948,608 in the first half, with expectations to reach 2 million by year-end.

“By making the internet accessible and inclusive, DITO helps welcome visitors to the Philippines and supports the growth of the tourism industry,” Alberto said. “This partnership also reflects our dedication to the country’s economic progress and post-pandemic recovery.”

Looking ahead, DITO remains focused on bridging the digital divide and empowering Filipinos. “Our goal will always be to uplift our country together,” Alberto said.
