MPH expands hospital network with investment in General Trias Medical Center

Metro Pacific Health Corp. (MPH) announced the completion of its investment in City of General Trias Doctors Medical Center Inc. (Gentri), marking a significant expansion of its network to 27 hospitals across the Philippines. This partnership strengthens MPH’s presence in the healthcare sector, adding to its portfolio of hospitals and improving healthcare access for more communities.

“We are grateful for the growing trust from doctors and hospital owners nationwide who have chosen to partner with MPH,” said MPH president Augusto Palisoc Jr. “This investment in Gentri is our 16th provincial partnership and the second in Cavite in just over a year.”

The newly acquired hospital, located along Governor’s Drive in General Trias, Cavite, is strategically positioned at the crossroads of five densely populated cities in the province. Its proximity to the upcoming CALAX Governor’s Drive toll exit, slated to open in the first quarter of next year, will significantly improve access to the facility from surrounding areas.

MPH’s commitment to enhancing hospital operations is evident in its plans for Gentri, as the company intends to introduce best practices from its nationwide network to improve operational efficiencies and patient care standards.

“Things happen for a reason. This transaction between MPH and Gentri will undoubtedly benefit both parties and the patients we serve,” said Ricardo Beroncal, former president of Gentri and one of its lead founders. He also expressed gratitude to MPH’s leadership team, including Manny V. Pangilinan, Noel de la Paz, Alvin John Merced, and Reina Nava, for their support in the acquisition.

With this latest addition, MPH now operates 11 hospitals in the National Capital Region, eight in North and South Luzon, two in the Visayas, and six in Mindanao. Its growing portfolio includes premier hospitals such as Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Davao Doctors Hospital, and Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod. MPH’s network now encompasses approximately 4,400 beds, 11,000 doctors, and 16,000 healthcare staff, serving over 4.2 million patients annually.
